My Life on the Internet
Jack is a typical teenager of the Internet era. Every morning, he checks his phone before he even gets out of bed. A video posted by his favourite teacher wakes him up; a message sent by his friends makes him laugh; and a news article shared by his mother keeps him informed. 'The Internet is like air,' he often jokes. 'You cannot see it, but you cannot live without it.'

But one day, something unexpected happened. Jack received a strange message from an unknown account, asking for his personal information. Interested at first, he almost replied. Then he remembered the warning given by Cozy in class: 'Never trust strangers online.' Shocked by his own carelessness, he blocked the account immediately. 'My heart was racing,' he told Lily later. 'I have learned my lesson, and I will never be tricked like that again.'

Touched by the experience, Jack decided to make a change. Encouraged by his friends, he organized an online safety club at school. Surprised teachers soon joined the club, and a well-known tech company even offered to support their activities. 'Excited by the response, we made a short video about online safety,' Jack said. 'The video, edited by our group, has been watched more than ten thousand times.'
However, not everything about the Internet is dangerous. Used properly, it is a wonderful tool. Jack now watches online courses to improve his maths, and he has joined a study group where students from three countries exchange ideas every week. 'A website recommended by Cozy helped me a lot,' he said. 'When I am tired of studying, I take a break and watch a short documentary. The key is to control the screen, not to be controlled by it.'
At the end of the term, Jack gave a speech to the whole school. 'Connected by the Internet, we can learn anything, meet anyone and help anyone,' he said. 'But remember: behind every screen there is a real person, and every click leaves a trace. Used wisely, the Internet is a bridge; abused, it becomes a trap. The choice, my friends, is always yours.' The hall exploded into applause, and Cozy smiled proudly at his student.

单个 -ed 前置:a broken window | -ed 短语后置:the book written by him
The video edited by our group has been watched many times. = which was edited by...)
对比:-ing 表主动/正在进行(the falling leaves 飘落的叶子),-ed 表被动/已完成(the fallen leaves 落下的叶子)。
用 -ed(interested 感兴趣的),修饰事物令人……用 -ing(interesting 有趣的)。
Surprised by the response, we made a better video. = Because we were surprised...)
Encouraged by his friends, he organized an online safety club. = After he was encouraged...)
Used properly, the Internet is a bridge. = If it is used properly...)
