'Failure is data,' he said. 'Now we know what does not work.' They anticipated the problems, revised the design, and tried again. The second prototype came to life on a Tuesday, and the team celebrated with a cheer.

On the day of the fair, their device attracted a crowd. A judge tested it, and the little screen lit up with a smiling face and a cheerful tune. 'I predict this kind of innovation will be launching a quiet revolution in health care,' the judge said. The team exchanged proud glances as other students crowded around, asking questions. By the end of the day, their little table had become the busiest corner of the hall.

The team won first prize. That night, they celebrated with milkshakes, and Jack raised his glass: 'To the frontier of technology, which belongs to those who dare to build!'
